HR/Recruitment Assistant

 

Grade: H 4 - H 6                                                                                   Reports to: HR Manager      

Post Responsibility:

To provide an efficient HR administration service to the School regarding operational delivery of recruitment and other HR services.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Leading the recruitment process, advertising roles, arranging interviews, printing and organising panel packs, scheduling interview days. 

Producing MI to show patterns and trends and reporting to the HR Manager

Leading the on-boarding process, completing pre-employment checks, sending out offer packs.

Supporting Line Managers with the probation process for new staff

Updating employee records in line with GDPR

Dealing with HR administration.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.  An enhanced disclosure will be sought through the Disclosure & Barring Service as part of the School’s pre-employment checks.

All those required to have a DBS check are required to inform the school at the earliest opportunity of any conviction, caution or bind-over that they have received or any police investigation which may lead to one of these.  Failure to do so, without legitimate cause, would be a serious breach of school discipline.

Additional Information:

The jobholder is required to contribute to, and support the overall aims and ethos of the school, maintaining its high standards and expectations.  All staff are required to participate in training and other learning activities, and in performance management and development as required by the School’s policies and practices.

All new recruits to the school within this Grade are subject to a 26 calendar week probationary period, which should provide you with the opportunity to discuss your progress within the role, identify any training needs and address any concerns.

Knowledge, Experience and Personal Attributes:

Essential

Previous relevant HR experience

Numerate, accurate, organised and a meticulous eye for detail

Discrete and confidential, operates with tact and diplomacy

Proactive completer finisher

Knowledge of social media in a working context

Positive team player with a desire to help others

Excellent IT skills (including Word and Excel)

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to work on own initiative

Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude

 

Desirable

Willing to engage in CPD opportunities

Has an interest in HR and Recruitment

CIPD qualification

Important Information and How to Apply

Salary Information: Grade: H4 to H6 (depending on experience) Full-Time Equivalent salary is £22,631—28,515 (including fringe)

Pro rata salary is approximately £20,789 to 26,195 per annum including annual fringe.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, (Term Time plus 4 weeks)

Start Date: January 2023 subject to pre-employment checks
