This maternity cover role is new in the HR structure, and is for a 12 month fixed term contract. You will be responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Director in delivering an effective and efficient HR service and support that improves the Company's performance and achieves the objectives of HR.

Description

The interim HRBP will work closely with the business to proactively manage a broad range of HR duties in a true HRBP role. You will:

  • Provide comprehensive HR advice and support to assist the business achieve its corporate objectives.
  • Work in partnership with leaders across the business to improve performance against key people metrics, e.g. sick absence, performance management, employee retention and engagement.
  • Work with the leadership teams to raise the level of management capability in dealing with people related activities.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the appropriate deployment of key people processes.
  • Work with managers to create a culture where dealing with employee issues is approached in a fair, sensitive, and timely way, and to embed the values across departments and teams.
  • Provide support in all aspects of people management, including managing grievance, disciplinary, appeals and absence management, ensuring all processes are dealt with in line with policy and procedure.
  • Advise on the implications of current and proposed employment law, ensuring the Company HR policies remain in line with legislation, employment practices remain compliant, and employees are treated fairly.
  • Manage the relationship with recognised unions, and support and coach managers to have pro-active and productive relationships with them, supporting consultation and negotiation meetings, as required.
  • Take a lead role in the company approach to managing sickness absence by providing advice and coaching to relevant line managers, producing sickness absence data and insights.
  • Work with leaders across the organisation to ensure the performance management approach is used effectively with focus on how the performance cycle is deployed.
  • Ensure business leaders have a robust approach to talent identification, succession and development.
  • Assist the HRD in creating and delivering business projects to ensure both the department and the company meets its objectives and people strategy.
  • Support the HRD in creating and developing HR / people related policies that provide a modern / best practice framework for the effective management of people.

Profile

To be successful in this interim HRBP role you will need to be/have:

* Experience across the whole range of the HR remit
* Experience of leading on industrial relations and individual consultations preferred
* Hands on employee relations experience and the ability to manage disciplinaries, grievances, performance improvement and absences
* Ability to produce and analyse data providing key insights to stakeholders
* An ability to develop strong working relationships and engage effectively at all levels
* Comprehensive knowledge of UK Employment Law
* To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* A strong internal service ethic
* CIPD or similar qualification preferred
* Available to start a new role in January and commit to a 12 month contract
