Your new role

  • Reporting to the Group Compensation and Benefits Director, this role will partner with the HR and business teams across the company to deliver international mobility services
    • In-house expert on mobility
    • Covering tax, social security and immigration requirements
    • Broad rather than deep knowledge required, knows when to involve external experts and the right questions to ask of the experts
    • Work with business teams and HRDs's to act as central coordinator and to build up in house expertise
  • Coordinating cross-border HR processes
    • International assignment and expatriate management including advising on policy, practise and tax and social security implications
    • First point of contact for work permits and immigration queries
    • Advise on social security compliance, liaising with local teams to ensure correct documentation obtained, hold central database (e.g. A1's, S1's in Europe)
    • Advising on medical provision for movers
    • Supporting UK inbound Short Term Business Visitor data reporting process, including advising businesses and provision of data to KPMG
    • Advising on compliance for business travellers post Brexit
    • Advising local HR on payroll requirements for movers
    • Ensuring provision of modified/shadow payrolls as required by businesses as efficiently as possible
    • Ensuring tax liabilities / refunds end up with right business
  • Documenting and managing mobility policies
    • Expert resource for international mobility with the Group HR team
    • Maintain database of assignment letters, external advice notes
    • Ensure consistency in application of mobility policies, and that there are documented approvals for any deviations
    • Create and operate a diary management system for key dates
    • Advising local HR teams on work permit applications, residency requirements, visas etc
    • Managing the immigration processes for key location pairings (e.g. Austria <--> UK)
  • Liaising with external experts (largely KPMG)
    • Coordinate all interfaces between company and KMPG (and other advisors)
    • Create/coordinate standard processes and advice papers where required
    • Responsibility for manage the central billing process from KPMG
    • Responsible for signing off global tax compliance support list annually
    • Reduce the external service cost (cost reduction expected to at least pay for annual salary)



What you'll need to succeed

  • Numerate with excellent organisational skills
  • Qualified to degree level, preferably STEM as this job involves numbers and complexity
  • Exposure to HR, finance and tax relating to international moves. This role will be the 'in house expert' that business HRDs will turn to.
  • Gravitas and sufficient experience to make/ recommend business approach to HRDs
  • Thrives on good quality work, delivery to businesses and continuous learning
  • Resilient, a good team player and good sense of humour helps.
  • International mobility experience in a large multinational - minimum 5 years in mobility, on top of general HR background.
  • Alternatively, minimum 8 years' experience in relevant consultancy firm, most likely tax consultancy with desire to move into HR community and roll up sleeves and get stuck in.
