Job summary  

The Trust has developed an exciting new role for an experienced Learning and Leadership Development professional to provide leadership and management of the Trust's Learning and Development function.

Main duties of the job  

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a learning function, with proven experience of successfully developing and delivering leadership and talent management activities across a range of leadership roles. Applicants will be able to demonstrate innovative ways of creating and delivering learning across a geographically spread organisation and also in developing learning interventions to meet specific individual and or team needs.

We are looking for an experienced coach who will be able to develop the trusts coaching capacity and capability.

Experience of strategy and policy development is essential and the successful candidate will be customer focused and outcome oriented, with the ability to think strategically whilst also delivering the day to day requirements of the role. You will possess a clear strategic view of the link between effective organisational learning and organisational performance. You will also have experience of successfully contributing to the broader workforce and people agenda.

About us  

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Person Specification Qualifications and Education

Essential

  • Current member of CIPD
  • Coaching/mentoring qualification
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent education and experience

Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant post-graduate experience of managing a learning & development function including teams within a complex organisation and with exposure to a range of L&D issues.
  • Experience of leading innovative learning and leadership development initiatives using the 70:20:10 philosophy
  • Proven experience of delivering leadership development and talent management activities across a range of leadership roles.
  • Experience of developing learning interventions to meet specific needs.
  • Knowledge of innovative blended learning solutions and facilitation
  • Experience of strategy and policy development
  • Experience of leading others through change

Personal Attributes

Essential

  • Driving licence and access to a car for business use OR ability to travel to sites using other methods of travel within reasonable timeframes
