Long-standing established public sector organisation based in Manchester seeking to recruit a Learning & Development Partner on a 12-month FTC basis initially, to join their dynamic team. An exciting organisation that offers a stimulating work environment with a supportive culture.

Your New Job

In your new job as Learning & Development Partner you will work in partnership with senior colleagues in allocated business areas, to provide a professional L&D service that is customer focused and drives performance improvement. Your role will be to develop and implement L&D plans to support the business strategy while also supporting the Head of L&D and other senior colleagues to ensure appropriate working partnerships are in place with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Some of your main responsibilities;

  • To provide advice and guidance to managers and colleagues, on key issues concerning staff learning and development.
  • To work in partnership with business areas to establish staff learning and development strategies and plans to support the achievement of business objectives, improve service delivery and performance.
  • To provide a strategic staff learning and development consultancy service, ensuring the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of targeted and bespoke staff learning and development interventions in support of allocated business areas.
  • To support colleagues in establishing and maintaining the organisation's reputation and profile nationally (and internationally where appropriate) on issues relating to staff learning and development benchmarking and contributing to the development of KPI's where appropriate
  • To contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the Staff Learning & Development Strategy.
  • To support the ongoing development and delivery of organisation wide programs of staff learning and development activity, including one to one coaching, accredited qualifications, eLearning initiatives etc.
  • To lead, organise and direct the work of colleagues so that objectives are met and the team is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time-to-time by the Head of Staff Learning & Development, commensurate with the level of responsibility of the role including representing the Head of Staff Learning & Development on occasion.


What You'll Need to Succeed

- Professionally qualified with CIPD or a broad -based business qualification supported by practical experience in all aspect of learning and development activity.

- Demonstrable evidence of continuous professional development.

- Ability to effectively lead and co-ordinate the work of colleagues. - Significant experience of developing and delivering a range of learning and development initiatives, including the identification of development needs, commissioning and/or designing one off and programs of interventions, one to one coaching. - Knowledge and understanding of current issues in learning and development. - Evidence of setting and achieving learning outcomes and performance goals. - Strong project management skills with an ability to manage projects and operations within budget.

- Evidence of experience of working in a customer focused environment and delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence colleagues.

- Able to generate new ideas and support change management.

- Excellent analytical and problem -solving skills. - Excellent leadership, teambuilding and decision-making skills combined with the ability to motivate staff within an ethos of individual and collective responsibility for actions and exemplary service delivery.

- Knowledge and understanding of how IT systems can support and enhance learning and development, with a familiarity with eLearning.
