Has your substantive generalist HR experience been gained in a large, complex organisation in a business partnering context that included implementing organisational change, undertaking case work and managing complex processes? Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that’s open, vibrant and welcomes new ideas? Then join the University of East London as a HR Business Partner.

It’s a particularly exciting time here at the University as, under our ambitious 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, we’re committed to providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world, including increasing the diversity of the talent pipeline, particularly for Industry 4.0 jobs. Our goal in Human Resources is to support our people to deliver that strategy. However, we can only achieve that if we have an engaged and diverse workforce with the skills, commitment and leadership it takes to succeed.

Right now, we’re looking for an accomplished forward-thinking HR professional to join our team and help us move ever closer to achieving our goals. Your challenge? To partner designated School and Service areas to ensure they deliver on their strategic and operational business plans and take responsibility for a varied portfolio of HR projects. Along the way, you’ll need to build strong and lasting relationships with key partners, including senior management, line managers and local trade unions alike. Providing expert advice, leading on organisational change projects, helping to develop and design business focused solutions to people matters and advising on employment-related issues – all are aspects of a high profile role that will also see you line manage one or more HR Advisors.

As well as holding CIPD membership, you have a sound working knowledge of UK employment law and current HR trends, and a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues in employment. Experience gained in the Higher Education or Further Education sectors would be useful too. More important though is a strong commitment to providing a high-quality HR Service, plus experience of staff management, including agreeing clear objectives, planning, prioritising resources and delegating tasks effectively.

You’re great at building sustainable, collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including senior managers and trade union representatives, within a diverse and multicultural environment. What’s more, you have the resilience to remain calm and professional under pressure, using your initiative and creativity to resolve complex and sometimes unpredictable problems. Experience of utilising an HR database and using Microsoft Office applications is also required, together with the ability to interpret, and appropriately act upon, management information.

So, if you have what we are looking for and are keen to learn and further develop, get in touch.

To apply please visit our website. CVs without a completed application form will not be accepted.

At UEL we are committed to working together to build a community which values diversity in both our staff and student populations, is representative and inclusive, enabling all to progress and thrive.
