Here at Gloucestershire County Council, we want to ensure that making a real difference for the citizens of the county is at the heart of all that we do.  A greener, healthier, more prosperous Gloucestershire is the focus of the county council’s four year strategy and we must continue to ensure we are an organisation fit for the future, in order to deliver on our commitments and fulfil our strategic leadership role.

This role is an opportunity to support that ambition through the development of a workforce that is modern, dynamic and representative of our diverse communities; a workforce who are well supported in an environment where they feel able to develop and perform at their best.  We are looking to recruit an exceptional, forward-looking HR professional who can bring an innovative approach to our service.  You will have a track record of leading people services with a natural ability to influence colleagues, coach our HR team and show positive organisational impact and leadership.

Our approach to HR replies on proactively building relationships with stakeholders and an holistic approach across people, processes and systems.  The post holder will work to develop a highly valued and visible HR team to lead and drive workforce and wellbeing initiatives, taking real pride in making a difference and working with senior leaders, union colleagues, managers and our workforce.

For an informal conversation about role, please contact Mandy Quayle via mandy.quayle@gloucestershire.gov.uk to arrange a phone call.

Potential date for assessment centre/interview:  Wednesday 8th February 2023.
