Job Details

A varied, autonomous role for a Regional HR Advisor to join a growing retail business in a team of 5 (hybrid).

Your new company

My exclusive client is a successful retail and hospitality business who are growing both organically and through acquisition of other companies.

Based near Southampton, the business are a leader in their field and have a proud history of selling the highest quality products to their customers across the UK. They have 26 retail sites across the country, the majority of which are located in the South of England.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of HR and with support from 3 colleagues in a team of 5, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business in a varied, mobile role covering multiple sites.

Although ER biased, this is an autonomous generalist role that will suit someone with a 'hands on' approach who likes to engage with colleagues and managers. You will also assist recruitment processes and have the opportunity to lead / support HR projects across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for all HR related matters within your region
  • Managing your own case load of employee relation and performance management matters for your region
  • Coaching, advising and providing pragmatic support to managers on HR policies and procedures including disciplinary, redundancy, grievance, etc.
  • Advising and providing expert knowledge on recruitment best practice including assisting and developing recruitment campaigns. Working with key stakeholders to ensure vacancies are filled in a timely manner
  • Monitoring and reporting on key recruitment metrics

Working hours: 40 / week, Monday-Friday (8.30am-5pm with 1 hour lunch). This position offers hybrid working - 2 days home / 3 days office or visiting local sites on average). Pool cars and fuel cards are provided for all travel and free parking is available at Head Office and all other locations.

Please note that this role requires a basic DBS check prior to joining, but this is funded by the company.

What you'll need to succeed

This opportunity will suit someone who is keen to develop and work collaboratively with a small, vibrant team, influencing / coaching managers and supporting colleagues with all HR / ER related matters.

You must be CIPD Level 5 qualified or be working towards this, with experience in a HR role having supported or led ER case work, with some experience of recruitment and onboarding. You will be required to visit sites, so a Driving Licence and willingness to travel is essential too.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a salary between £30,000-£33,000 (DOE), hybrid working as above and access to a pool car / fuel card for travel.

Other generous benefits include: company pension, Life Assurance (4 x annual salary), 23 days holiday +BH's, 20% staff discount, free parking, EAP and free entry to a popular local attraction.
