Client Details

My client is an SME high-growth brand within the home interiors market. With European-based manufacturing, their UK operation is currently expanding due to acquisition.

Description

As the HR Manager, you will lead the Human Resources function in the UK. You will develop and implement a people strategy that aligns to the business goals, which underpins a customer-centric people culture.

As the company's primary HR expert, the HR Manager will be required to provide advice and support to the UK Country Director, Head of Finance and the Senior Management Team.

You will proactively advise on best practice HR and adopt a hands-on approach in dealing with the HR requirements of the business. Broad areas include: employee relations, talent management and development, recruitment, employee engagement, health & wellbeing, and reward.

You will also be the lead for 'all things people' in relation to the business growth through acquisition, particularly with regards to managing the related TUPE processes

General responsibilities will include (but not be limited to);

  • Ensuring operational success and development of the HR function
  • Interpreting and advising on employment law including updating and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring the employee handbook is kept up to date in line with legislation
  • Providing coaching and support to the senior management team in terms of development and performance management
  • Lead employee engagement strategy and identify areas that require improvement and development; inclusive of health & wellbeing and diversity & inclusion
  • Playing a key role in supporting and maintaining the right business culture, inclusive of promoting vision & values, equality & diversity and the overall employee health & wellbeing proposition
  • Responsible for the recruitment and selection activity
  • Ownership of the full employee lifecycle

Profile

The ideal candidate will have extensive generalist experience either as a standalone HR Manager, or leading an HR team, ideally within an SME high-growth organisation, or a start-up HR function. Experience in organisational growth due to mergers and acquisitions would be beneficial, and operational experience of managing TUPE processes is essential.

You will have demonstrable experience in providing effective coaching to line managers, supporting activities across culture and engagement, recruitment, and people development

You will be an ambitious and dynamic HR leader, able to thrive in an entrepreneurial high-growth environment
