The Early Careers Lead will be responsible for shaping and leading the management of Early Careers, Emerging Talent and Apprenticeships, through developing pathways to support future skills pipelines and supporting the aspirations of our existing colleagues. The role will ensure the smooth running of all schemes and support with continuous improvement initiatives, engaging colleagues and wider stakeholder to promote emerging talent

Description

  • Work alongside key stakeholders, the Learning & Development (L&D) Manager and the wider People team to design, develop and deliver an Early Careers strategy which meets business and leadership requirements
  • Develop and implement effective Early Careers programmes, taking responsibility for continuously reviewing programmes in place, including candidate experiences and engagement through the review of end-to-end cohort cycles, schemes or placements and ensuring that any recommendations or improvements where required are implemented
  • Work alongside the L&D Manager to design and deliver entry level programmes and pathways
  • Ensure that all early talent colleagues are supported, developed and retained to be successful within the business
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners to identify high performing and emerging talent and managing their transition into substantive available roles
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support the promotion, sourcing and recruitment of talent for our Early Careers Programmes, Graduate roles & Apprenticeships
  • Represent the business at recruitment events associated with Early Careers and Apprenticeship programmes
  • Represent the business at networking and industry events to showcase the company and in particular the early talent programmes
  • Responsible for taking the lead on all University, College and School partnership activity to actively promote careers and placements within the business, building a talent pipeline of candidates and promoting a strong employer brand
  • Working with the L&D Manager and wider People team to create and deliver appropriate learning & development opportunities for Early careers
  • Assist key stakeholders and colleagues to access Apprenticeship courses, advising and coaching on the availability and commitment required to undertake professional qualifications utilising the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Building and maintaining networks with industry bodies such as the National Skills Academy to ensure up-to-date knowledge on early careers, government initiatives and funding
  • Develop and manage working relationships with external providers to manage the delivery of professional qualifications and training, ensuring that the design and delivery of any training programmes brings added value to the business and our attendees
  • Work closely with the L&D Manager to identify annual recruitment requirements for Early Careers programmes, Graduates and Apprenticeships
  • Responsible for reporting on Early Careers KPI's and the progress being made within early talent and Apprenticeships
  • To ensure that Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) applies at all times within the role and to actively promote EDI wherever possible
  • To work closely with the L&D Manager at all times, ensuring that lines of communication remain open and that important information is relayed in a timely efficient manner
  • Undertake all activities in line with Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures and participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace

Profile

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Demonstrable examples of designing, developing and implementing successful Early Careers programmes, including attraction and recruitment strategies, marketing of programmes through to delivery and tangible outputs
  • Previous experience of devising, developing, and implementing STEM Early Careers, Emerging Talent and Apprenticeship programmes, including design and delivery of assessment centres
  • Ideally will have experience in a fast-paced growth environment

Job Offer

A salary of up to £50,000 (DOE) plus car allowance and benefits.

The role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with some travel included
