A really exciting opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their career or someone who has some strong HR Manager experience and is keen to develop the HR funcion for a small growing organisation who are around 50 employees and have some exciting growth plans for next few years.

Being in the sports and Leisure sector, this is a really exciting opportunity for someone who has a real passion for people and is excited by an opportunity to make their own!

DUTIES

  • Understand the business and work with the senior leaders to create a set of values to set the building blocks for the future strategy, culture and growth
  • Implement and incorporate the newly created values into all the new policy, processes and projects that the organisation implement.
  • Be responsible for developing a robust recruitment plan, working with agencies but also working on taking many roles inhouse with support of your team, creating talent pools and strategy
  • Look at how to retain staff, create a learning and development plan, career paths, performance management programme and implement and deliver
  • As part of the L&D programme, look at creative learning, how to engage with employees, a blended learning approach
  • Oversee management of 2 HR Administrators
  • Be the first point of call, coach and support line managers with everyday HR, employment law, disciplinaries and grievances and anything that may arise from these areas
  • Complete a full review of all policy and process and amend, design and implement where necessary
  • Be responsible for reward, benefits and review benefits package.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership team on projects, the company strategy and growth for the future
  • Please note that due to the nature of the industry and onsite workforce, this role will require 5 days a week in the office, based near to Chelmsford, Essex. Hours will be 9-5.30 Monday to Friday (with some flexibility needed and offered)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Have a creative approach, be forward thinking, driven, strategic and have passion for People.
  • A strong HR background, minimum as an experienced HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager and to have team led, or managed a team before
  • Experience implementing projects, a strategy and able to create policy from scratch.
  • Coaching senior leaders, recruitment, strong employment law experience are all required.
  • You will also have a CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in either the leisure, sports, media, or a creative industry is highly desirable.
