As Senior HR Advisor, you will act as the first point of contact/escalation for HR related queries from employees and line managers. You will be responsible to deliver an efficient and effective generalist HR service within the HR Team and provide an outstanding service to our staff and Management Teams.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Senior HR Advisor in Hounslow will be:

  • Actively work with management in providing advice, support and training in all aspects of HR including employment law, equal opportunities and other associated legislation
  • Support the HR team in developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure productive employee relations are consistently maintained in accordance with legislation and best practice

Recruitment and on-boarding:

  • Oversee all recruitment for the Station and ensure offers of employment are issued to successful candidates within the required time lines
  • Provide support to the Station Managers on all recruitment matters
  • Ensuring probation reviews are carried out for all new joiners in line with Company Policy
  • Provide support to line managers for induction of new starters, with particular emphasis on ensuring that all new starters are made aware of key corporate HR policies, procedures, company benefits and how these are implemented locally (eg absence reporting procedures etc.)

Attendance Management:

  • Provide case management advice to HR Managers with regards to managing long and short term sickness cases.
  • Partner operational management to effectively manage attendance
  • Ensure all Occupational Health referrals follow the correct procedure and keep the management team updated with progress
  • Advising on and administering family leave, flexible working requests and attendance management issues

Policies and Procedures:

  • Ensure all HR Processes are implemented, managed and updated, suggesting improvements where necessary
  • Preparing HR related letters and documents, as and when required

Employee Relations:

  • Take accountability for all Employee Relations issues within the station.
  • Advising line managers with employment queries, including performance issues, restructures, TUPEs and redundancies
  • Act as chair or note taker and provide advice during disciplinaries, grievances and appeals procedures
  • Support the HR Business Partner on the preparation of Employment Tribunal case files, as and when required

Reward:

  • Contribute to/conduct negotiations with Trade Union in conjunction with operational managers on pay, terms and conditions and procedural matters, in line with HR Business Partners.
  • Update pay scales in line with pay awards, when required
  • Lead on all people recognition schemes and other engagement initiatives for the Stations, to ensure our people are engaged and valued for their contributions

Profile

The successful Senior HR Advisor in Hounslow will have:

  • Prior experience as a HR Advisor in a standalone capacity
  • CIPD qualified
  • Ideally prior experience of HR in aviation, logistics or other service-related B2B environments.
  • A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction and appropriate development for individuals.
  • A thorough and proactive approach with the ability to deal with matters in an efficient methodical process.
  • Results orientated and ability to work under pressure, think ahead and cope with conflicting priorities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, at all levels throughout the organisation.
  • Commits to an action after developing ideas for consideration that are based on logical assumptions and factual information that take into consideration organisational risks and issues.
  • Ability to present ideas and information persuasively, communicate effectively with internal customers, and build professional credibility within the organisation.
  • Actively influences events to achieve goals, self-starting rather than accepting passively.
  • Prior experience of liaising with TU's and negotiating on a collective basis.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Previous experience managing teams and motivating teams/individuals to deliver.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and peers.

Job Offer

On offer for the successful Senior HR Advisor in Hounslow:

  • Salary up to £39,000
  • Travel to other sites across UK 2/3 days a week the rest 2/3 will be WFH
  • Expenses covered for travel (flights, hotel etc) to other sites, not including your base site
