HR Advisor / HR Project Officer to support an HR Business Partner with a variety of HR project work.
Part Time 22.5 hours per week - 12 months Fixed term contract - Home Working / sites in South/South West
We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / HR professional to support and get involved in a wide range of exciting people related projects and programmes. You will be reporting to an HR Business Partner and working alongside a People Team. The focus of the role is to support a wide range of people related projects which underpin the people strategy.
Utilising your professional people knowledge, combined with project and programme skills, no two days will be the same and you be involved in coordinating many and varied pieces of work.
Main duties of the job
- You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation with responsibility for the coordination and day to day project management of a number of key People/HR projects, ensuring effective communication of the project aims, objectives, processes and issues.
- Ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within cost where necessary.
- This is not just a project support role - your professional HR and People experience will be key in ensuring projects are delivered with due regard to best practice, legislation and effective change management approaches.
- You will be a skilled communicator with the ability to build positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders alongside an agile approach to managing priorities.
Candidates
Education Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent experience or training, plus further staff, or project management knowledge to post graduate diploma level equivalent
- CIPD qualified to level 5 or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Experience Essential criteria
- Experience of supporting fast paced and complex people programs
- Experience of working in a People Advisory role
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management
Desirable criteria
- Member of relevant professional body
Skills & Capabilities Essential criteria
- Effective organiser
- Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources and consider a range of options
- Experience of managing risks and issues
- Experience of planning, managing and co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments (over short, medium and long term programs of work)
- Capability to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
- Experience of managing a team without direct line management responsibilities
- Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills
- Good standard IT skills, including MS Office skills, excel.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
- Experience of multi-agency team working and developing relationships across organisational boundaries within the public sector
- Management of whole systems change projects
- Knowledge of financial systems e.g., monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement; business planning processes
The role is offered on an initial 12 months fixed term contract with scope for longer term
Home Working but sites for the organisation are across the South and South West. But majority of role is remote.
Part Time 22.5 hours per week
