L&D Advisor | Manchester CC | £27,900 - £32,000 | 6 month FTC | Hybrid (2 days in office) | 35 hours

Large, longstanding public sector organisation in Manchester Centre seeking to recruit a Learning & Development Advisor on a 6-month fixed term contract. Excellent opportunity in an exciting organisation that offers lots of development opportunity.

Your New Job

Within your new role, you will be expected to make an immediate contribution to the delivery and development of the programme of learning and development activity. You will support in learning activity design, promotion, delivery and evaluation. The role requires knowledge and experience of types of L&D interventions and approaches and experience of learning event facilitation, both in person and virtually.

You will be able to manage your workload effectively with a focus on continuous improvement through all you do. It is important you keep up to date in the world of learning and have a passion for L&D and an appreciation for OD. You will work closely with the Partners within the organisation, covering various responsibilities. Some include;

  • Designing learning activity for bespoke events/programmes
  • Supporting with online programmes, working alongside the e-learning specialists
  • Evaluating events
  • Supporting with courses (owning the content, changing design/structure, evaluation)
  • Liaising with external associates
  • Supporting various clients and customers within the organisation


The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrating an ability to work with a wide range of people with varying levels of understanding. You must be a flexible team player with excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of work activities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Knowledge of current best practice learning and development interventions.
  • Previous experience with design, delivery and evaluation.
  • Substantial experience of delivering learning and development events and activities, including group event facilitation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) demonstrating an ability to work with a wide range of people with varying levels of understanding.
  • Excellent I.T. skills, with experience of using learning management systems and eLearning interventions.
