An award winning SME company based in Bradford is seeking a HR Administrator to come on-board, joining their welcoming, collaborative team. A role that will provide excellent exposure to the HR world for an enthusiastic HR professional.

Your new role

Reporting to the HR Manager, the job holder will deliver HR administration services across the employee lifecycle (i.e. recruitment, changes during employment, leavers). The job holder will support the HR Manager in resolving HR queries from staff and managers as well as championing Wellbeing initiatives within the business and playing a key role in delivering meaningful Internal Communications for the business.

The following responsibilities are not exhaustive and are often demand led, therefore the frequency and complexity of the work will vary without changing the character of the role or the level of responsibility.

  • Provide an administrative service for Recruitment activity across a range of roles and teams within the business, including:
  • acting as first point of contact for employment agencies (where required); receiving and acknowledging candidate applications; arranging interviews; producing offer paperwork and contracts; creating employee files.
  • Participate in new starter Inductions and onboarding activity looking for ways to improve the process.
  • Work alongside colleagues in Finance to ensure the creation of accurate employee records on the Payroll system.
  • Work with managers to ensure employee files are appropriately populated and maintained - work with the HR Manger to undertake ad-hoc audit activity in this area.
  • Provide support as required to the HR Manager and PA to the Directors in dealing with day-to-day queries and issues - triaging and/or resolving HR queries from staff and managers.
  • Process employee Reward/Benefit schemes, working with HR Manager to grow employee awareness and use of the different benefits available.
  • Plan and ensure delivery of a schedule of employee Wellbeing initiatives throughout the year.
  • Administer and improve the current employee nominations and recognition scheme, including long service awards and special celebrations.
  • Support the HR Manager with internal communications processes, using SharePoint and other available tools e.g. lead the creation of a regular employee newsletter / comms.
  • Administer the annual Staff Satisfaction Survey and ad-hoc staff consultations.
  • Undertake research work as required e.g. to support the creation and upkeep of HR policies.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal colleagues, in particular Team Leaders and Managers to ensure our People policies are widely understood and adhered to.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives across the business.
  • Contribute to and/or produce relevant data/ management information as required.
  • Support the PA to the Directors to manage company events and employee events as required, e.g. annual employee summer BBQ and Christmas Party.
  • Maintain a professional and polite manner when representing the Company and have a positive and supportive attitude with all colleagues, managers and customers.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties required on behalf of the business and management.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to build strong relationships with a wide range of people quickly, demonstrates good listening skills.
  • Strong administrative skills with working knowledge of MS-Office - experience of other customised IT systems an advantage.
  • Exceptional customer service focus - puts the customer at the heart of everything you do.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Personal resilience demonstrated through the effective management of difficult individuals or situations - investigating and taking ownership of issues/queries through to resolution.
  • Capacity for taking initiative when needed - proactive approach to work and demonstrates the ability to problem solve.
  • Good team working behaviours.
  • Trust worthy and demonstrates discretion when dealing with sensitive personal information.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards
