HR Manager - Halifax
Hays HR are currently recruiting for a HR Manager to work for a Manufacturing company in Halifax.
This role requires someone who is prepared to be very hands-on within in a professional environment where culture and team fit will be paramount.
Employing over 100 people with the core business operating a shift pattern. Experience within a manufacturing, shift working environment would be an advantage but not essential. Applicants will have extensive experience as an HR generalist and be organised, experienced and be able to work independently and be a key member of the leadership team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Employee Contracts, general correspondence, employee relations, dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievance's, absence, retirement, and redundancy
- Support the business with employment law and HR advise
- Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and share best practices
- Compliance e.g., mandatory training, induction courses, probationary and policy and procedure review
- Support recruitment process and provide advice on recruitment and selection process
- Manage talent and succession planning
- Facilitate Training / Learning and development policy
- Drive the Employee Engagement strategic agenda
- Employee Welfare reviews and Support
- Support change management processes
- Drive alignment between HR and business goals
- Group reporting and projects
The HR Manager will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience
- Proven HR generalist experience
- Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or part of the team
- Experienced in developing and supporting managers through change
- An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills is required together with leadership
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other experienced HR professional
- People oriented and results driven
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Qualifications & Experience
- CIPD qualified
- Ideally Degree qualified or HNC/HND in human resource management
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a HR Manager role or equivalent
