Support the Senior HR Business Partners with the delivery of a proactive value-added HR service to the Group, with a focus on the management of employee relations casework and policy development.

Description

Work closely with all line managers to provide best practice HR advice and guidance that supports and promotes the Employee Value Proposition and culture.

· Provide advice and coaching to line managers on employee relations matters and operate as the first point of contact for ER casework, including absence, performance, capability and conduct management and flexible working requests.

· Manage the process and content submission to create obtain good quality Occupational Health referrals and obtain effective OH reports by working closely with line managers and OH representatives.

· Maintain the employee relations tracker and ensure that accurate information is recorded to effectively manage and report on ER case activity and provide insight to the Senior People Partners.

· Support, coach and advise nominated managers in undertaking grievance and disciplinary investigations, when required.

· Create new and maintain existing people policies, in accordance with the governance framework and review cycle and ensure that up to date documents are available on the intranet.

· Manage the mid-year and end of year employee engagement survey, including the preparation, set-up and results sharing and action planning activities.

· Contribute to and influence, where possible, positive employee engagement, including action planning within the People and Engagement team.

· Actively support the Senior People Partners in implementing business changes (including restructures) and on People and business-led projects.

· Conduct Exit Interviews, manage any follow-up action and provide insight to the Senior People partners and/or business areas.

· Support, coach and advise the Employee Forum Chair and Deputy on the people management aspects of the group - including employee representation, onboarding of new EF representatives and ensure that there is good visibility/understanding of the People agenda within EF throughout the year.

· Work closely with the HR Operations team to map and review people processes as part of our continuous improvement goal.

· Monitor and update the People content on the intranet and work with the HR Ops team to prioritise, update and refresh information to ensure compliance and increase self-service utilisation.

· Contribute to the monthly and end of year ExCo/RemCo reports, including employee relations data and insight.

· Maintain and implement continuous professional development through attendance at external employment law briefings/seminars, professional/industry reading and research and recommend new approaches and changes to current practices, as appropriate.

Profile


· Extensive experience in ER casework

Good communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels

· CIPD qualification (level 5) or equivalent work experience in a recognised HR team

· High level of computer literacy (MS Office), particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint

· Previous experience of HR systems (preferably Sage)

· Able to deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information

· Pays attention to detail and works with a high level of accuracy

· Takes responsibility for actions, project deliverables and people

· Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction

· Demonstrates an interest and understanding of others

· Analyses numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information

· Produces workable solutions to a range of problems

· Gets to the heart of complex problems and issues

· Works productively in a high-pressure environment
