As a Barclays Portfolio Manager, you will join our People Analytics & Culture team, providing assurance on the overall portfolio and being responsible of the design, development and implementation of standards, to ensure that the change execution is managed in the most effective manner. We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
•    Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within PA&C, to set out standards by which portfolio will be managed, monitored and assessed
•    Partnering with relevant lead to ensure delivery Scope, Risk, Plan, Resource and Cost implications are clear and reported
•    Tracking portfolio level risks, actions, issues and decisions as appropriate
•    Managing any formal reporting required to teams or central forums 
•    Being accountable for regular reporting to internal and external stakeholders on PA&C portfolio
•    Managing prioritisation to book-of-work, including annual HR and Technology planning process as well as any out of out-of-cycle change control
•    Leveraging Bank or function wide tools and templates to encourage the standard use to support delivery
•    Seeking to upskill PA&C colleagues on change delivery through coaching and education

What we’re looking for:

•    Change experience operating at Project, Programme and Portfolio levels, with an awareness of Barclays Change Framework (or equivalent)
•    Working knowledge of MS Office with excellent PowerPoint, Excel and Project skills
•    Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish solid relationships
•    Resilient, proactive and highly organised, being able to take ownership of tasks and projects and to cope in a fast-paced environment with a flexible approach

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Project or Programme Management qualification would be ideal but not essential
•    Relevant experience working in the business as opposed to change areas, ideally within HR, is preferred
•    Knowledge of Agile delivery principles and how it can be used along with Waterfall and Lean techniques would be advantageous 

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. 
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
