HR Officer, Public Sector, Ipswich/Hybrid, £32,909-34,723, Temp until August, Perm Potential.
Your new company
Hays are partnering with a not-for-profit education trust with schools across both Suffolk and London. We are looking for a HR Officer to support their HR Director in delivering an efficient HR service. Through the implementation and regulation of HR initiatives, this trust looks to develop and sustain great schools across the East!
This role requires you to work on site in Ipswich for 3 days a week- with 2 days offered as hybrid working. You will primarily be based within a set school, but there may be an expectation to travel between trust sites.
Your new role
Within your new role you will provide an efficient, effective, trust-wide HR service. Across the generalist remit, you will carry the following responsibilities:
- Managing and advising on HR administration, inclusive of the recruitment process and note taking
- You will undertake necessary pre-employment checks
- Maintenance of HR records and system data
- Manage starter and leaver process, ensuring all starters are provided with the relevant onboarding processes and documents
- Support employee relations cases, inclusive of note taking
- Support HR queries and provide advice to managers
- Assist with the HR email queries
- Ensure all work is treated with confidentiality
- Participate in the trusts appraisal system
- Any additional duties commensurate within the grade
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will be CIPD level 3 qualified, be working towards this qualification or similar, or have demonstrable experience within HR administration. You will be an effective administrator, both paper, and digitally.
You will have experience on guiding HR processes, and liaising with payroll. You will have experience of producing documents, such as letters and spreadsheets, and be self-motivated, flexible, and committed
You will have a good appreciation of the need for confidentially, and have excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.

In return, you will receive an equivalent rate of £32,909-34,723, plus other benefits. This role has a likelihood of going permanent.
