Hays HR are currently recruiting a HR Generalist for a manufacturing company in Wakefield. This role will provide a fully comprehensive, high performing, value adding, professional HR service, which enables the Company to achieve its business objectives and meets its responsibilities to its human resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • The implementation of the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures, in line with legislative and Company requirements.
  • Work alongside the HR Manager, to ensure that the Company Handbook is up to date and in line with employment law legislation at all times.
  • Provide an efficient and responsive information and advisory service to Managers and employees, regarding various aspects of human resource such as disciplinary, grievance and performance issues, to ensure matters are resolved effectively.
  • Conduct investigatory meetings to obtain accurate information relating to disciplinary or grievance issues, in line with legislation and Company procedures.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, regarding specific vacancies as allocated by the HR Manager.
  • Undertake exit interviews and record information on the Department's database.
  • Assist with the application of the Company's Absence Management Policy to ensure consistency is maintained across all Departments and absence levels are continuously controlled in line with Department KPI's.
  • Assist with the effective deployment of all Occupational Health & Wellbeing policies. This will include the management of individual long term sickness cases, completing employee referrals, escalating cases for capability, and producing practical back to work plans which are fit for purpose for both the employee and the business.
  • Assist the HR Manager with the development of role definitions and person specifications, to ensure alignment with Departmental and organisational needs.
  • Provide statistical HR information and reports in response to business requirements.
  • Assist the HR Manager and OD Director with any ad hoc projects and duties, as and when required.
  • To ensure appropriate security for all HR related information in line with GDPR legislation is applied at all times.



What you'll need to succeed

  • CIPD qualified Level 5 or above (or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of policies & procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Employment Law
