Senior Equality, Health Inequalities and Human Rights Officer

Salary: Grade B: £37,694 (National Framework) or £42,863 (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £529 per annum for those working from home.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week or part-time, minimum 28 hours per week. Job share may be considered
Contract: Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity until 31st March 2024
Location: Home based

What you will bring…

To be considered as a Senior Equality, Health Inequalities and Human Rights Officer, you will need:

- Experience working in an equality and or human rights function
- Experience developing equality, health inequalities and human rights materials
- Experience of taking a structured approach to problem solving in a policy context
- Experience analysing the impact of legislation and policy and delivering policy projects
- Experience developing and delivering policy proposals, recommendations and guidance
- Experience working with cultural change
- Knowledge of the health and/or social care sector

What you’ll be doing…

As a Senior Equality, Health Inequalities and Human Rights Officer, you will support equality work on health inequalities and human rights implications throughout CQC.

Developing specific work and policy areas that will help set our strategic direction, you will deliver projects within our regulatory development work for health and care settings.

You will also analyse the implications of external legislative, policy and other drivers in relation to our strategy and develop regulatory policies, methods and guidance which enable us to promote equality and human rights and tackle health inequalities.

Additionally, you will:

- Provide advice and quality assurance of products and outputs from other teams
- Assist in developing and embedding culture change
- Ensure that policies, methods and guidance meet the needs of operational delivery
- Engage staff in the development of the strategy
- Provide advice and guidance in response to queries
