Your new company
You will be joining a well established, people-centric organisation in South Oxfordshire who have an existing HR function of 7 heads including Recruitment, L&D and HR Operations. The need has arisen for a strong HR generalist to support this function for the next 12 months, covering a period of maternity leave.

This is a part time position and the organisation are very flexible on how many days, hybrid working and working hours that may suit you. The contract is looking to start in March 2023 to allow for a handover with the incumbent. You will need to live within a commutable distance of Abingdon, South Oxfordshire to ensure that you can be on site when business needs arise and can spend time getting to know your colleagues and stakeholders.

Your new role
Supported by 2 members of the team focusing on HR ops, you will be providing a HR Advice service to managers and stakeholders. This could be matters varying from Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent Planning, Learning & Development or specialist queries relating to Reward, OD, ED&I or Wellbeing. You will partner with the managers and directors across the business unit you will be supporting (circa 100 heads) to understand upcoming needs and provide expert level advice and guidance. You will be comfortable interpreting policy, advising on best practice and will use your lived experience to give expert advice to the business on the most appropriate solutions for their needs.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a strong HR generalist who has a broad skill set across the HR discipline, you will ideally be available at short notice to ensure a handover period takes place. CIPD of level 5 or 7 would be desired but for candidates who can demonstrate they are operating at a HR Manager level without the CIPD qualification this will be accepted.

What you'll get in return
Reporting to the Director of HR, you will also get the opportunity to contribute to the strategic people agenda and perhaps take a lead role on upcoming projects. The Director of HR is keen to ensure this is a contract opportunity where the successful candidate can also develop their skill set and HR portfolio so will work closely with you to understand any development areas they could help with exposing you to during the 12 months you are with them.
