A Financial Services firm, base in the City of London, seeks an Interim Senior HRBP on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will support a front office client group working in partnership with senior management teams to drive the HR Strategy across their business area/s.(Product, Geography, Control and Support Function)

Description

An Interim Senior HRBP with the following Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

[1] Organisational Effectiveness:

  • To proactively identify and address capability and structure needs through strategic workforce planning and capability planning (i.e. identifying "buy, build or transform' scenarios) across customer groups
  • To optimise organisational structures through effective use of organisational design principles, in support of business requirements (e.g. growth targets, cost control)
  • Supporting and maintaining the integrity of the organisational hierarchy through the effective use of job evaluation and managing the change following organisational restructures or major change projects (e.g. Universal Bank)
  • To optimise ways of working by driving collaboration/integration and diverse working styles and promoting more Progressive ways of working, including Hybrid Working
  • To proactively mitigate HR operational risk aligned to our risk appetite (e.g. ensuring appropriate process controls and monitoring in place, mitigating key person dependencies, identifying and addressing areas of critical capability gaps)

[2] Business Transformation

  • To partner with the business to develop and drive an annual People Plan for customer groups
  • To drive the delivery of HR employee life-cycle products across customer groups (e.g. compensation cycle, performance management cycle, talent reviews, succession planning)
  • To continuously develop and incorporate external HR insight into the organisation (e.g. regulatory and legal HR updates, HR networking best practice)

[3] Talent, Succession and Leadership

  • To proactively manage succession risk and develop diverse talent by partnering with the business to drive the talent review, succession planning and promotions processes across customer groups
  • To oversee recruitment activity across customer groups, to ensure diverse talent is entering the organisation
  • To drive line manager capability, providing Executive and line management coaching in complex or performance related cases and the delivery of people processes
  • To complete Learning Needs Analysis to identify and implement development priorities across customer groups

[4] Performance and Reward

  • To drive a high performance workplace by identifying and addressing performance differentiation. This includes partnering with the business to drive the performance management cycle, facilitating performance calibration and addressing under-performance across customer groups
  • To partner with the business to drive the annual salary and bonus review across customer groups
  • To proactively manage Equal Pay
  • To proactively review and provide feedback to wider HR colleagues on benefit effectiveness and improvement opportunities across customer groups

[5] Technology and Data

  • To manage HR effectiveness through specific HR metrics (agreed as part of People Plans)
  • To drive line manager uptake of HR technology (manager self-service)
  • To proactively review and advise wider HR colleagues on further opportunities for automation and data analytics

[6] Culture

  • To partner with the business to drive the Diversity and Inclusion agenda across customer groups
  • To partner with the business to drive the outputs of the Culture and Employee Engagement surveys across customer groups
  • To partner with the business to drive the Well-being agenda across customer groups
  • To partner with the business to drive the Conduct agenda across customer groups
  • To partner with the central Policy team to manage employee relations cases

Profile

An Interim Senior HRBP with the following Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable, recent experience of supporting a front office client group within a matrixed environment
  • Strong judgment across complex HR issues through to strategic insight on the entire HR employee lifecycle
  • Strategic thinker balanced with a strong record of execution
  • Excellent track record of Human Resources Management, developed in a knowledge based industry and in a complex ever changing environment Highly disciplined person with ability to form and express well-reasoned arguments and to influence senior management
  • Awareness of FS operating model, and an Investment Banking structure, business strategy, customer base and the products and how this impacts HR activity
  • Confidence and personal presence to gain the respect of both peers and senior management In depth knowledge of the financial sector, the ever changing regulations and the impact it will have on the banking sector
  • Degree level education or equivalent professional qualifications is desirable
  • High level of IT literacy in particular Excel, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal / teamwork skills with an ability to facilitate and coach others
  • While committing to the team objectives, demonstrate personal accountability for delivery of personal actions An ability to manage and develop relationships within matrix management structures.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and adaptable manner within a global organisation
  • Possess and maintain up to date knowledge of key trends in the Human Resources market.
  • Flexibility to get involved in ad hoc projects and have an open mind and attitude for any problem solving and change
  • Strong problem solving skills, combined with positive "can-do" attitude
  • Demonstrable ambition and clear desire to contribute to both personal and Bank's growth & development.
  • Acts with highest standards of integrity and fairness to colleagues and clients
