The HR Manager will lead a small team of HR professionals to ensure the development and delivery of the site HR strategy, and will provide support on Recruitment and Retention, Performance Management, Health and Wellbeing and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in line with business objectives.

My client is a leading Manufacturing business based in Tyne & Wear.

Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Deal with complex HR queries including advising on policies and procedures (developing, implementing and updating when necessary) in line with UK employment law and best practice
  • Manage complex grievances, disciplinary and performance issues as they arise
  • Manage employee relations practices to encourage a positive employer/ employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale, engagement and motivation
  • Work closely with the SMT, the HR Officer, and Recruitment and Training team to deliver the training plan for the business
  • Create a suite of learning options for all employees to expand and develop talent and skills at all levels within the business
  • Manage the development process for apprentices and build relationships with external apprenticeship/ training providers
  • Take a lead role on the commitment to make improvements in line with company values
  • Support, coach and guide managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction with employees
  • Develop a calendar of events to engage and support employees, and attract potential recruits - e.g. recruitment events
  • Define and develop the HR strategy towards Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring working practices support a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Oversee the management of the end-to-end recruitment process, from creating job specifications to sourcing candidates
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure every new recruit has a quality, thorough and informative induction

Profile

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources Management
  • CIPD level 7 qualification
  • Solid generalist experience within HR
  • Previous experience working in a Manufacturing/ Industry setting is essential
  • Strategic and hands on experience of HR policies and ER processes
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employee legislation
  • Experience of driving HR initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • A track record of leading and developing a team of HR professionals
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Job Offer

  • £45,000 - £50,000
  • Full-time and permanent position
  • Site-based role (however hybrid working available after initial period)
