Your new company
A global financial services rating agency with over 50 offices worldwide. The firm conducts independent and credit research and data and works with investors, issuers and other market participants.
The Human Resources function supports a wider business division comprising a headcount of just over 4,500. It provides a service in line with a business partner model, with specialist teams dedicated to Learning & Development and Recruitment. The HR team is located in regional hubs in London, New York, Chicago and Singapore. The Chief HR Officer is based in London and reports to the CEO.
Your new role
This is a highly regulated company with a data-driven, analytical management culture and Human Capital is both its greatest asset and cost. Accordingly, this is a high profile position within HR and reports directly to the Workforce Analytics and Compensation Business Partner. Principle stakeholders outside HR are the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and members of the Executive Group.
You will be responsible for:
- Management reporting on human capital (e.g. headcount and cost movement, tracking YTD against budget, analysing turnover and forecasting hiring)
- Taking a lead in building out a reporting suite to measure Talent and the effectiveness of HR processes
- Interacting with the Strategic Business Intelligence team to build a suite of Data Visualisation Tools in QlikView.
The role covers both Workforce Analytics and Compensation Analytics as below.
Management Information & Reporting:
The post-holder will deliver all regular headcount and staff cost reports to Finance, our Shareholders and the various Executive functions. This includes liaison with the HR and Finance functions across all Group companies to ensure timely delivery of data for assimilation into Group-level reports. You will seek opportunities to increase the analytic capability of both the team and the wider HR function to create meaningful, value-added reporting while also seeking continuous improvement opportunities to streamline and automate reporting needs, reducing manual tasks and increasing the teams capacity for operational and/or unplanned work.
Compensation Management:
The post-holder will work closely with Workforce Analytics and Compensation Business Partner to support the CHRO, the Group CFO and CAO in the analysis, development and delivery of corporate compensation programs based on business objectives, cost effectiveness and competitive practice. This includes participation in the running of the annual compensation review process, regular liaison with consulting partners related to market benchmarking exercises and analysis in all areas pertaining to compensation. Additional projects the post-holder will participate establishment of a holistic, transparent reward philosophy and cash compensation philosophy (including pay equity principles).
What you'll need to succeed
- Education to undergraduate degree level, preferably in a mathematical, engineering, science or a business subject.
- At least 18 months' experience in a management reporting role gained within the HR or Finance function of an international organisation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, not to programming standard but comfort with macros and advanced functions, pivot tables, etc. Knowledge of databases preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with (ideally multiple) HR and payroll, preferably Success Factors.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with proven ability to work effectively and deliver under deadline pressure. Must be prepared to work occasional long or non-standard hours in to support key processes - e.g. reporting periods - e.g. Year End or budgeting.
- Excellent analytical skills - critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
- Proven track record with providing analytical insights.
- Experience with developing reports that cover talent analytics and measuring effectiveness of HR processes.
- A customer-oriented approach, with a high attention to detail.
- Experience with QlikView or other data visualisation applications.
- Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion.
