An influential Head of HR to join a growing SME on a 9-12 Month FTC - based in Portsmouth / hybrid.
Your new company
My client is a growing SME infrastructure / Facilities Management (FM) business who boast a vastly experienced team of specialists based in their Portsmouth office. The organisation has benefitted from significant recent investment and will add talented people to the company over the coming months and years as part of an important long-term strategy.
Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will line manage a team of 4 x direct reports across HR and Recruitment. This is a rare opportunity in the local area for an engaging Head of HR to join a business going through an exciting period of change on a 9-12 Month FTC to cover maternity leave.
Hybrid working is available with 3 days office (Portsmouth) vs 2 days home / week (Friday and 1 other day of your choosing).
Working hours: 37 / week Monday-Friday, with flexibility on start / finish times Monday-Thursday and an early finish (12pm) on Fridays.
What you'll need to succeed
This role requires a senior HR / People professional with the gravitas to positively influence and engage with senior leaders at board level, displaying both a commercial and employee centric approach. The successful applicant must also have the ability to challenge senior colleagues in an effective manner.
You must be a creative, innovative thinker who is happy working at a strategic level, but also willing to 'roll up your sleeves' at an operational level too.
You must have line management experience as mentioned above, experience of working effectively with trade unions and a knowledge of HR systems (ATS / LMS / HR), preferably implementing or developing iTrent, but a good understanding of different HRIS will be considered and will be an advantage too. You will support complex, higher level ER cases, but most case work will be dealt with by your direct reports within the HR team.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a generous salary between £65,000-£75,000 (DOE), hybrid working as above, 25 days holiday +BH's, free onsite parking, EAP, Occupational Health and Physio onsite (referral required), Death in Service (4 x salary), Group Income Protection, a discretionary annual bonus and pension up to 6% employee / 8% employer.
A new Reward and Recognition Scheme is also launching soon too.
