Payroll Manager
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Salary: Up to €65,000 - €75,000
Macmillan Davies are delighted to once again be working with this Fortune 500 global business in their search for a Payroll Manager to join the wider HR team onsite in central Hamburg, Germany.
Well established and continually growing even in this challenging economy, the business who are headquartered in the US have consistently dominated their market and can boast to be partnering with some of the world's leading brands in food production.
Although the business has a global headcount of 12,000 this Payroll Specialist supports 350 employees located at the flagship site in Hamburg, where you will be determining payroll and time recording data is supplied to central payroll provider accurately and on time.
This may be the only Payroll position onsite but you will be very much part of a supportive and friendly HR team within a business that promotes succession planning and considers the future development of all of its employees
To be successful in this role you will possess sound knowledge of German tax laws and processes and have proven and extensive experience of working in a lead Payroll position ideally within a manufacturing environment although manufacturing experience is not essential. You will also be genuinely customer focused and be happy to manage payroll queries directly from employees.
Main Responsibilities:
* Independent determination, calculation and compilation of payroll and time recording data
* Coordinating and ensuring the timely data transfer of all payroll-relevant data to the payroll provider
* Administration of the time management system
* Administration of all payroll-related matters
* Reporting and interface to the finance department
* Compliance with all requirements from collective and company agreements as well as tax and social security law
*There are no people management responsibilities in this role.
Experience Preferred:
* Completed vocational training in a commercial or tax-consulting profession
* Payroll experience in a production/shift environment with complex time recording would be an advantage
* Experience with systems ADP and Loco would be beneficial but not essential
* Good knowledge of German tax and social security law
* Good MS-Office skills, especially in Excel
* Fluent in both German and English
