Senior HR Assistant, Education Sector, Ipswich/Hybrid, circa £24,000-27,000, Temp-to-Perm + Amazing Benefits

Your new company
Hays are partnering with a not-for-profit education trust with schools across both Suffolk and London. We are looking for a Senior HR Assistant to support their HR Director in delivering an efficient HR service. Through the implementation and regulation of HR initiatives, this trust looks to develop and sustain great schools across the East!

This role requires you to work on site in Ipswich for 3 days a week- with 2 days offered as hybrid working post implementation. You will primarily be based within a set school, but there may be an expectation to travel between trust sites.

This role is ideally operated on a full-time basis, but part-time will be considered.

It is intended that this role is to run until August 2023, with permanent potential. If you are strictly looking for permanent, please do feel free to reach out also.

Your new role
Within your new role you will provide an efficient, effective, trust-wide HR service. Across the generalist remit, you will carry the following responsibilities:

  • To provide an administrative support to the HR team as required.
  • Undertake recruitment and selection admin and to act as a key HR contact.
  • Prepare and place adverts to ensure success recruitment
  • Induction and onboarding support
  • Employee record updates
  • Undertake DBS renewal checks
  • Record employee absence
  • Undertake payroll admin
  • Training organisation
  • Other duties commensurate with grade


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will ideally be CIPD level 3 qualified, be working towards this qualification or similar, or have demonstrable experience within HR administration. You will be an effective administrator, both paper, and digitally.

You will have experience on guiding HR processes, and liaising with payroll. You will have experience of producing documents, such as letters and spreadsheets, and be self-motivated, flexible, and committed

You will have a good appreciation of the need for confidentially, and have excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.

You will be flexible, adaptable, and be able to respect confidentiality at all times.
