This interim HRBP role is based in Leeds with hybrid working, for a leading law firm with offices throughout the UK. A generalist role, you will support your business area in all areas of HR.

Description

The interim HRBP will work as part of a large HR team and take ownership of all generalist HR issues for the aligned business area. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Senior HRBP team in the definition and delivery of HR strategy and plan for the business area, implementing key initiatives within the client group.
  • Acting as a business partner to support the leadership team.
  • Delivering performance management, operational tasks including fixed term contract extensions, basic headcount reporting and general HR queries.
  • Supporting on ER issues in the team which range from performance plans, probation reviews and low level misconduct.
  • Working with management teams to ensure structures are in place that maximise effectiveness.
  • Coaching managers and being trusted advisors, on both people and business issues and direction, ensuring employment legislation is balanced alongside a commercial approach.
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on HR issues, KPIs, opportunities and development plans and achievements, through HR data analysis, to enable fact-based decision making.
  • Co-ordinating the salary review & bonus allocation process for the relevant teams, taking accountability for ensuring that decisions are accurately captured and processed.
  • Championing the learning agenda within teams, and ensuring participation in the relevant programmes.
  • Developing talent and succession plans, working to ensure that the diversity profile of the practice groups improves in line with the firms objectives for inclusivity.
  • Working with the recruitment team to deliver external and internal recruitment for the business area.
  • Building strong internal relationships at the highest level in order to implement strategic change.

Profile

This interim HRBP role requires an experienced HR generalist, ideally with exposure in the legal or similar sector. You will need to be/have:

* Proven experience in a generalist advisory role, dealing with a variety of HR/ER queries and managing multiple stakeholders.
* Understanding and practical experience of managing ER processes in a commercial environment, with the ability to contribute to the wider business and HR agenda.
* Strong diplomacy and influencing skills, with the ability to command credibility at all levels.
* Excellent IT skills; competent Excel skills essential and competent in the use of information systems highly desirable.
* Confident and credible in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
* Strong financial acumen and ability to understand the performance of the business area.
* Solution oriented with a lively, energetic and positive outlook. Pragmatic, robust and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
* Available on short notice or immediately, able to commit to the full 12 month contract.
