The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.
We have a vacancy for a Senior Executive Officer Resourcing and People Lead in our Business Support Division
As an employer who puts our people at the heart of our business, this Resourcing and People Lead role is central to ensuring that the VMD is a great place to work.
You will foster the relationship between the VMD, as an executive agency, and Defra, our parent Department, to contribute to and embed Defra and Civil Service HR policies and objectives.
Working to ensure we maintain a well-trained, motivated, and content workforce that nurtures our diversity, you will lead our learning and development programme and take a proactive approach to our ‘Respect and inclusion’ initiatives.
Leading the Business Support and Director Support Teams you will be working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Deputy CEO, and the Chief Operating Officer. You will be advising senior leaders to successfully manage workflow and resources to meet demand, and act on recruitment and improvement opportunities.
