Oakleaf Partnership are representing a tech SME with circa 60 colleagues in the UK. This role is situated in their office in north Manchester and will be the first HR presence in the business.

What is the role?

You'll work provide a full generalist service to all employees, covering recruitment of new roles (1-2 hires per month), oversee the benefits, champion development, and coach managers on policies and procedures. Employee relation casework is relatively low but you will be expected to handle a process start to finish. The right person will be approachable, engaging, bring ideas to the table, and want to drive a open and honest culture. Although a first HR hire in the company, this isn't about setting up a function from scratch. Most aspects are in place but need a revamp and need to be owned by a HR professional rather than the SLT.

Candidate profile / experience

The successful candidate will have worked in a SME before, either a strong generalist or have come from a standalone role. CIPD level 5 and above is desirable.
