Job Details

An adaptable, highly motivated Senior HR Advisor to join a private healthcare provider in Dorset / Hybrid.

Your new company

My client is a provider of specialist healthcare services that offer support and care for young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs. They have been established for many years and have multiple sites in the Dorset area.

Your new role

The Senior HR Advisor will report to the HR Director and work closely with a Senior Recruitment Lead with some support from an Office Administrator. This role will provide generalist support to managers and team members to ensure an efficient Human Resources service is provided across the business through pro-active, comprehensive, and effective advice and guidance in line with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To provide advice regarding employee relations casework, including investigations and formal hearings and performance management.
  • To ensure Return-to-work and exit interviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • To prepare documentation for formal hearings and provide administrative support as required.
  • To act as the first point of contact for general HR advice and guidance.
  • Advise and participate in recruitment and retention in conjunction with the Senior Recruitment Lead on an ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure timely written and verbal responses to ad hoc queries from team members, in line with policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Improve, implement and administer HR policies and procedures.
  • Respond to requests from Management, internal auditors, regulatory bodies or outside agencies as appropriate, working within Data Protection Act and GDPR requirements.
  • Ensure salary information is sent to payroll accurately and within appropriate timescales.
  • Administer the Group Apprenticeship portal for sponsored learners.
  • To assist with identification of training needs for all levels of team.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of training activities and ensure that all training packages are in line with current legislation and good practice to meet the business needs.
  • Working with the HR Director to design, develop and deliver training sessions.
  • Coordinate the Induction programme to continuously improve the employee experience.
  • Manage team rewards, benefits and recognition schemes in conjunction with the HR Director.
  • Oversee the management of student placements and volunteer opportunities.

Working hours: 40 / week, Monday-Friday (9am-5pm, but potentially flexible for the right person). This role is based in their Ringwood head office, but you will be able to WFH 1-2 days / week beyond your first 2-4 weeks in the business.

You must have a UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle as occasional travel to other local sites will be required. A pool car is sometimes available, or mileage can be claimed at 45p / mile if not.

What you'll need to succeed

You must have worked in a HR / People role or function (ideally 3 years+) and be CIPD Level 3 qualified - future qualifications and personal development may be supported by the business. Experience in a healthcare or social care organisation will be an advantage, but other sectors will be considered.

This opportunity will suit a positive individual who is highly motivated, enjoys working collaboratively and has the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a salary between £35,000-£37,000 (DOE), 25 days holiday +BH's, flexible working as above, free onsite parking, EAP, continued development opportunities and investment in your career, discount card for retailers, free DBS, Refer a friend scheme and generous company events.
