Job Title: Head of HR Americas (Parental Leave Cover)

Fully Remote (East Coast preferred)

Oakleaf is partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, healthcare disruptor to cover a parental leave. This is a really exciting, hands on role which will suit a commercially orientated HR leader. Priorities include -

HR Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of four HR professionals located across various major hubs in the USA. Provide guidance, support, and ensure the HR team is aligned with the company's goals and values.

Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer, collaborate closely with them to align HR strategies with business objectives and support the development and maintenance of a strong company culture

Project Management: Oversee key HR projects, including the implementation of a share options program (pre-IPO), employer score reporting, year-end compensation reviews , DE&I initiaves and re-launching of the company values.

Internal Communications: Develop and deliver effective internal communication strategies to ensure consistent and transparent messaging across the organization. Support the dissemination of important information through various channels, including team calls and online platforms.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, leveraging previous experience with cross-cultural communication and collaboration. Facilitate effective communication between the US HR team and EMEA counterparts

Mergers and Acquisitions: Although no immediate plans are in place, previous experience in managing M&A activities is desired, as we anticipate potential future acquisitions. Ensure HR integration and harmonization efforts are successful, should such opportunities arise.

Compliance and Employment Law: Stay up-to-date with diverse state employment laws, particularly in California, and ensure HR practices are compliant. Advise the HR team and company leaders on employment law matters, including policy development and implementation.

Growth and Expansion: Support the company's growth by driving talent acquisition strategies, overseeing onboarding processes, and developing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and development.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR leadership roles, preferably in a start-up or high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements in the United States, particularly in diverse states such as California.
  • Experience working with European stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing HR team.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including successful delivery of HR initiatives and programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience with M&A activities is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
