HR Business Partner – Retail

Location: Northern Home Counties  - based in either Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire or East Midlands (2 days a week in your region 3 days a week working from home)

Salary: £65-80,000 + bonus + benefits

The Senior HR Business Partner provides daily support to client group leaders pertaining to people initiatives in alignment with this great retail organisation’s business strategy. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, programs, and systems along with as well as ethical business practices. Interfaces with specialised HR functions to deliver quality HR services according to departmental and organisational goals and objectives. Acts as a trusted partner to your client group offering leadership on all people/talent related aspects of the business.

 

The role:

 

Manages the HR Business Partner relationship with Centers of Expertise (COEs) and assigned client groups including but not limited to workforce planning and consultation.

 

Advises leadership on issues related to people and change management, coaching methods, corrective action and other documentation, development, performance improvement planning, as well as other workplace matters. As a partner with client group leadership, serves as a coach and sounding board to managers and an advocate for all team members and the brand.

 

Creates best practise strategy working a on a wide variety of HR initiatives HR plans and procedures, develops and implementation of policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance; leads various HR projects and initiatives.

 

Answers team member questions related to compensation; fosters and supports a culture of Reward and Recognition.

 

Participates in recruiting strategy meetings and interviews; understands staffing needs and turnover/retention trends; champions culture strategies to increase retention and morale.

 

Consults with and advises on escalated employee relations issues, including performing thorough investigations when needed.

 

Collaborates with COEs and looks for ways to innovate and improve by recommending new approaches and practices to improve efficiency of department and services performed.

 

Coach Managers and Directors on HR practices and effective leadership.

 

Strategically lead the People agenda in daily people operations in the UK, ensuring the highest levels of employee engagement and satisfaction

 

Lead the development and execution of People related initiatives based on an understanding of different perspectives; gather agreement with stakeholders before implementing the initiatives

 

Provide thought leadership regarding organisational and people-related strategy and execution

 

Establish company policies and procedures for the locations we support

 

Provide insights and solutions to both internal and external customers to achieve positive results beyond highlighting issues

 

Provide leadership to reporting staff with clear direction, regular honest feedback and personal development

 

Proactively and effectively address complex people operations issues; mitigating risk and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company, teams, and people

 

Consistently review existing processes, systems, and policies for improvement. Develop and adapt to change with the collaboration of all relevant key internal stakeholders to produce the most effective outcome

 

 

 

The person:

 

Degree educated or  equivalent with a Masters in HR or CIPD L7

 

Progressive HR business partnering skills gained in a sizeable Retail, Hospitality or FMCG organisation

 

HR Project management skills

 

Strategic, structured and savvy

 

A leader who is both a great role model as well as a fantastic coach who brings out the best in others

 

Deeply focused on delivering top-notch internal customer service to the team

 

Collaborative and build trust-based relationships with employees

 

Comfortable with ambiguity, rapidly changing environments, and building from scratch
