My client is an established company in the financial sector, based in Southampton.

Your new role

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to cover a colleague who has been seconded into a 12-month project role.

You will work closely with the broader HR team to provide consultancy and guidance in respect of the strategic people agenda. You will be responsible for facilitating and supporting leaders in the achievement of the transformation, business strategy, plans and objectives and contributing to enhanced levels of performance, both business and individual.

Drawing on your experience, you will work with relevant stakeholders to support all people programs and strategies including talent management, employee life-cycle management, coaching and organisational design. As well as developing and delivering people strategies to support business challenges, you will work with the Senior Business Partner to assess, design, meet governance requirements.

This includes providing further support during wave activity to ensure a smooth delivery. You will champion and promote the cultural, inclusion and wellbeing agenda, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders to take accountability and responsibility for cultural change. You will also apply the same oversight, detailed knowledge and experience to project business as usual / tactical project design and implementation plans, such as year-end performance and pay.

You will be based in the Southampton office with travel to London 1-2 days / week. This position also offers hybrid working (1-2 days / week).

What you'll need to succeed

For this role, you must have a HR generalist background with a pragmatic approach to process and practice, with knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including employee engagement and retention, organisational development, employee relations, and performance management.

A background within Finance or Financial Services is preferred, but experience of asset / investment management is essential, including:

  • Ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and communicate key messages succinctly to stakeholders.
  • You will ideally be CIPD qualified and have a strong working knowledge of HR best practice and UK employment law.
  • Able to build effective working relationships with the business at all levels, manage change, solve problems and challenge and influence behaviour.
  • You will have proven experience of partnering and coaching managers to improve level of employee engagement.
  • You will be commercially astute; you consider the financial and legal impact /risk of all decisions.
  • You will have demonstrable evidence of keeping abreast of industry, competitors, and sector changes.
