The Vacancy

Hybrid working – a combination of working from home and at Leicester HQ.

Full time. Permanent

The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is the leading trade union and professional association for all school and college leaders, representing more than 25,000 members in primary, secondary and post-16 education. Our members are responsible for the education of more than four million young people and children. We work to shape national education policy, provide advice and support to our members and deliver first-class professional development.

The post is a new role supporting the Leadership Group and is part of the Association’s investment in providing strategic leadership to develop and implement our people strategy. This ensures that our people and culture remain at our core as we adapt and develop in changing times.

The role requires an individual who can work strategically and take a hands-on, operational approach to implementing required actions. We are looking for exceptional professional people with the skills and experience to develop a strong and collaborative culture that supports the ambitions and growth of our people.

The post-holder will be offered flexible working – a combination of working from home and being in-person at our Leicester HQ (frequency to be agreed at interview). IT and telephone equipment will be provided.

This role is paid on a five-point incremental range from £68,259 to £75,310. The Association offers a very generous package of benefits, including 33 days' holiday plus bank holidays and a pension scheme to which the Association contributes 9% of salary. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are also covered, including a working from home allowance.

ASCL is committed to equality of opportunity for all our staff. We encourage applications regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Monday 10 June 2024.

Interviews will be held at the national Headquarters in Leicester in June on Thursday 20 June

Start date: As soon as possible.
