Are you an HR Systems Specialist or perhaps an HR Generalist with a strong HR Systems capability with a solid knowledge of ITrent HR System. We have an interesting opportunity to support a not-for profit organisation on an interim contract basis for 3-6 months and potentially part-time hours to suit.
Our client has implemented ITrent but only uses a small % of its capabilities.
We are looking for an HR Systems Specialist who is able to review existing ITrent usage and system capability and look to enable modules and configurations of the systems and seek to enhance the capability of the existing team.
Key tasks include :

  • Be responsible for configuring and scoping and overseeing the implementation of new modules and new system functionality in collaboration with the Head of HR
  • Support the Head of HR in working alongside other team members to develop and implement new systems solutions and functionality;
  • Understand the HR and Payroll system and any supplementary modules e.g. analytics
  • Provide system support ensuring that the system is running at optimum capacity
  • Identify and meet analytics needs and requests by the department and users of HR information
  • Manage and proactively ensure data integrity of the organisation structure in the system;
  • Where necessary, take advantage of new functionality to improve management information.
  • Support the Head of HR in ensuring that the software application is understood sufficiently by all direct users to enable them to carry out their allotted work - through
  • Provide advice and guidance on processes and procedures;
  • Work as part of the team within the department to ensure that the overall aims and objectives are achieved;
  • Undertake any training as deemed necessary;
  • Proactively involved in testing new functionality and system development;
  • Assist with the creation and updating of system configuration documentation and user manuals;


  • We're seeking an experienced HR Systems professional or HR generalist with solid iTrent knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience of HR Systems including managing BAU activities and implementing upgrades/new modules in ITrent, along with reviewing business process and data migration;
  • Experience of improving HR Systems and training user capabilities.
  • Experience of HR and/or payroll processes;
  • Solutions-orientated and systematic approach to issue resolution;
  • Proven end-to-end project experience - roll out and delivery of system functionality up to and including UAT;
  • Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;


  • This role is offered on an initial temporary contract via Hays for 3-6 months.
  • Hybrid working available but some days on site in Southampton are required per week.
  • Open on hours but potentially 3-4 days, but open an negotiable.
