HR Assistant
Salary: £28,750 per annum

Eliot, William Golding, Seamus Heaney and Sylvia Plath. Faber is also a supplier of sales and distribution services to independent publishers and has a market-leading creative writing school.
We are looking for an approachable, organised and “hands on” HR Assistant to be the first point of contact for all HR queries and to provide end to end administrative support to the HR function.
Reporting to the HR Manager, key responsibilities include:
- Preparing letters and HR related correspondence
- Processing starters, leavers, internal changes, payroll instructions and benefits
- Maintaining and updating Leaveplanner system and HR database
- Supporting the recruitment process
- Helping to organise training, work experience placements and internships
- Providing advice and guidance to line managers and staff on policies and procedures, escalating to HR Manager when needed.
You will have a high level of numeracy, excellent attention to detail and be able to handle high volumes of different tasks whilst managing priorities and deadlines. You will have some previous HR administration experience and an ambition to pursue a career in HR. Knowledge of HR software systems and databases, and an understanding of employment law would be desirable. You will ideally have a minimum of CIPD level 3 and will be able to communicate professionally across all levels.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in our central London office.
Although as a company we accommodate hybrid working, this particular role requires regular in-person contact with our London and Harlow teams. You will be a people person, who enjoys engaging with people and understands the importance of representing the HR function to the business.
