Your new role.
Responsibilities include:
- Working alongside subject matter experts across the business, you'll be ultimately responsible for managing and maintaining Society-wide policies, in-line with internal review schedules and any legislative/business updates.
- Lead on writing/ on-going development of the HR policies and procedures, working to ensure consistency of approach and compliance with current employment legislation, and ensuring policies align with the Society's needs and create a supportive employee experience.
- Engage and communicate with relevant stakeholders when updating and implementing policies, including working with the Learning and Development Team to produce and deliver any training,
- Partner with the People Team to ensure consistent interpretation and application of new/updated policies and procedures.
- Provide expert guidance, advice and support on complex policy matters to relevant People Team members, managers and colleagues, across a range of policy areas.
- Perform horizon scanning to keep up to date with HR best practices and employment legislation.
- Work with the Head of People Services to lead the ongoing engagement with the recognised Trade Union, including negotiations and consultations, developing excellent relationships at a local and national level, and working to achieve consensus at all times to the benefit of the organisation and its people.
- Act as the lead contact for the Trade Union Representatives and ensure representatives are appropriately supported
to carry out their duties. - Plan, organise and attend negotiation meetings related to the Collective Bargaining Process and provide secretarial services during those meetings.
- Maintain and review the collective bargaining agreements and facilities agreement between the Society and our recognised Trade Union and ensure compliance with the agreements.
This role is a great role for a HR Professional who likes the policy development side of HR; project management; relationship management and trade union work.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a role for an ER / HR Professional with a bias towards Trade Union work and policy development/ project management - with a solid generalist HR background.
Ideally you will have:
- The CIPD Level 5 Qualification (or equivalent experience level).
- Have up to date and in-depth working knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practice.
- Experience in developing, writing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Experience of working effectively with trade unions and other employee representatives.
- Background of working across a diverse and complex organisation
