Description
The People Operations Manager will lead the People Operations team to deliver end to end people services for the SFO that incorporates the on-boarding of new employees, workflows to support the employee processes for current employees, payroll and providing clear guidance for people who have chosen to exit the SFO. As part of the transition to a People and Culture service provision, the services provided through the People Operations team will be likened to that of level 1' service provision of a helpdesk type activity. This role will be instrumental in establishing this approach and will be greatly supported by the Head of People in carrying out this transformation.
People operations is a customer focused, fast paced, varied and exciting area of work within the whole People and Culture team. The team will draw on data sources, feedback and digital solutions to deliver an efficient and effective first stage support for all people related enquiries across the SFO.
This role is responsible for the quality and timeliness of the operational functionality of the People and Culture activities, including data integrity, case resolution and enquiry management. Working closely with finance, IT, Facilities, Commercial and Security to answer complex queries and/or resolve issues which cannot be answered by managers upon using existing policies and procedures.
As a People Operations Manager you will be responsible for:
- Lead, manage and provide guidance to all the People Operations team members, coordinating their workload to cover all the key functions and support them in their personal development and capability to deliver an excellent customer helpdesk approach.
- Provide a customer driven people operations functionality which covers the employee life cycle such as on/off-boarding service, pre-employment checks, issuing contracts of employment, handling loans/secondment agreements, and addressing general day to day queries on all people management related issues.
- Deliver accurate and timely payroll and pension services in partnership with our payroll provider, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and My Civil Service Pension (MyCSP).
- Work alongside the Data and Insights Manager and Engagement and Inclusion Manager to develop and maintain the management of an accurate person record system that holds data in line with GDPR requirements and is available for evidence led decision making.
- With the Data and Insights Manager, manage and optimise the Human Resources information systems (HRIS) functionality and workflows to support the development of the people and culture operational requirements.

Job Offer
£38,264 - £42,647 (Job Grade Senior Executive Officer / Band C)
Staff applying on promotion within the Civil Service will usually be appointed to the salary minimum or receive a 10% increase on their existing salary. Individuals appointed on level transfer will retain their existing salary.

Location
The role will initially be based at our offices at 2-4 Cockspur Street, London, SW1Y 5BS, in central London, however please note that we are due to move to 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 4PU at a date to be confirmed.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK & not overseas. Informal hybrid working arrangements apply & there is an expectation that staff will attend the office regularly. Work pattern & office attendance will be agreed with successful candidates
