We have a current opportunity for a Organisational effectiveness manager on a 6 month contract basis. The position will be based in the offie in London 3 days a week.

The Organisational Effectiveness Manager will scope, lead and drive Organisational Effectiveness programmes and initiatives across the business in support of the business and people strategy, as defined by the strategic plan. The role is part of the Organisation Effectiveness team that provides subject matter expertise and works with the business to shape and lead impactful projects that optimise efficiency, enhance productivity, and establish clear accountabilities and ways of working.

Typically, the programmes will be complex and large-scale change, usually spanning more than one functional area of the business. Most programmes will be centred on organisational effectiveness or design but could be multi-faceted, requiring other People specialisms such as Reward, ER/IR, or Engagement.

In most instances, the Organisation Effectiveness Manager will be required to design and deliver the organisational effectiveness change, as well as ensuring that the change lands well and is embedded in the organisation. Additionally, they may be required to play a project/programme manager role within the programme, ensuring that the programme is delivered on time and within agreed resources. They may also be required to contribute to or help manage the people strategy and plan.

  • Job Role Overview: The job role is a six-month contract focusing on organizational effectiveness and operating model redesign.
  • Team Structure: The current team consists of a head of and two junior members, with a need for additional expertise due to increased demands from a new CEO.
  • Work Environment: The role requires hybrid working, with mandatory office attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and potentially more days depending on project demands.
  • Organisational effectiveness and OD experience: The candidate should have experience in organisational effectiveness and organisational development.
  • Immediate demands handling: They should be able to handle immediate demands within the next six months.
  • Skills in operating model or organisation design: The candidate might also have process redesign skills.
  • Understanding of capability and performance: The role involves understanding the operating model, not launching new products or IT.
  • Diagnosis and collaboration skills: Ability to diagnose what's working and not working and collaborate with the business to improve it.
  • Availability for in-person work: The candidate should be able to come in at least twice a week.
  • Coaching ability: They should help coach junior members of the team.
  • Start within a reasonable time frame: Considering the security checks required to work at the airport.
