HR Business Partner (9-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: London | Department: Human Resources | Region: EMEA

A global, evolving financial services business based in Central London is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner to join their HR team on a 6 to 9 month maternity cover.

The HR department is dedicated to delivering impactful, high-touch HR solutions across all disciplines, driving organisational performance and fostering a culture that attracts, engages, and retains top talent. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The successful candidate will report to the Head of HR Business Partners and work alongside 2 other HRBPs in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a business function with tailored people strategies, performance management, and employee development
  • Oversee key HR processes such as performance reviews, compensation discussions, and performance exits
  • Lead complex employee relations cases
  • Assist with compensation processes including system support and business moderation
  • Collaborate with the EMEA Employee Engagement & Experience lead to identify and implement learning needs for the business
  • Analyse engagement survey data to identify trends and action points, supporting continuous improvement
  • Partner with the local Talent Acquisition and Campus Recruiting teams to drive recruitment strategies
  • Work closely with the Global Mobility team and immigration lawyers to manage relocations, secondments, and transfers
  • Respond to general HR queries from employees and managers
  • Support HR operations for non-London offices, including benefits and other processes
  • Handle ad hoc requests and projects within the team's broad remit

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an HR Business Partner role within financial services
  • Extensive knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of employment law and its impact on HR matters
  • Proven ability to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels
  • High level of accountability and ownership over tasks and responsibilities

Details:

  • 6-9 month maternity cover
  • 4 days per week in Central London
  • Fixed term but potential for day rate
