Oakleaf is currently partnering with a prestigious global insurance firm to recruit an L&D Manager for a 12-month maternity cover. As the L&D Manager this role will lead and manage all learning initiatives, including onboarding, compliance training, professional qualifications, and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programmes, with a focus on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and wellbeing. This role will be supported by a Senior L&D Coordinator.

  • Oversee the annual L&D curriculum, ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of internal and external learning events.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external learning providers, ensuring top-tier programme quality through regular assessments. Oversee the L&D budget and track ROI using MI data.
  • Develop and manage tailored programmes for early careers, including internships, graduate schemes, apprenticeships, and work experience opportunities.
  • Partner with senior leadership to design customised learning solutions that address talent needs and drive business growth.
  • Ensure all regulatory training requirements are met across the business.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Senior L&D Coordinator, fostering growth and development within the team.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, sharing insights and knowledge to support ongoing learning and development initiatives.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Proven track record in learning and development, ideally within financial services or insurance.
  • Line management experience is preferred.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing strategies for DEI, wellbeing, and early careers.
  • Familiarity with managing apprenticeship programmes and the apprenticeship levy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
