Head of HR - Standalone role - Fractional PE Business
£60 - £75k Permanent
Hybrid working - open to 1 day a week in the office (City Thameslink / Holborn)
Your new company
Working for a venture capital firm, headquartered in London with small international offices. The core employee headcount is >50, but overall, including portfolio business, you'll be responsible for 100 headcount. This is a growing firm with ambitions to grow their AUM to £300m in the next 5 years.
Your new role
This is a standalone, first in Head of HR role, reporting in to the CFO with other key stakeholders being the CEO, GC and MD's of portfolio businesses. You'll be responsible for the day to day management of HR processes, policies and culture of the business. It is a 'People' led business, who care about both their employees and business performance. The portfolio businesses that you'll be supporting will be part owned by the parent VC company, and will typically be start-ups with vigorous growth plans, which you'll have to support with recruitment, on-boarding, policy and inductions.
- Management of employee life cycle, from onboarding through to off-boarding
- TUPE of staff
- Support of hiring processes, including direct hires and agency support
- Daily use of HRIS system, updating of employee records (BambooHR)
- Responsible for benefits and remuneration
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be someone who is an experienced HR manager/Head of HR for an SME financial services firm, ideally within a VC, PE, Hedgefund or Private Family office and used to daily C-Suite exposure. Your ability to communicate and influence at a senior level is key, as you'll be supporting end to end HR for external, portfolio businesses who are in their infancy.
- Recent experience of working within a Financial Services firm, HC, ideally 50-250
- Operating at 2nd or #1 within a SME Private Equity / VS / FS Firm
- HR qualified (CIPD or Masters)
- Excellent communication skills, with written and verbal
- Ability to work towards results fast, used to working at a fast-pace
- Past employment to showcase tenure where you've seen multiple HR cyclical calendars through
What you'll get in return
Salary on offer is from £60-68k, + package. The office is based near City Thameslink & Holborn, Hybrid 3 days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
